A media-rich site with a bold new style for one of London’s premium music festivals.

The first in a suite of venue and festival sites we designed and built for AEG Europe, American Express BST Hyde Park hosts and advertises a programme of events that includes artists like Elton John, Adele and Bruce Springsteen.

The site enables promoters to create landing pages for events that, when launched, sell out in minutes. It also communicates accessibility options and other event information in a clear way that is easy and quick to navigate on a mobile device.

OUR APPROACH

Discovery - Workshops, UX Design + Prototypes

Through collaborative workshops with AEG, we delved into their vision for the future, addressing current pain points and crafting detailed user personas tailored to their diverse audience segments.

From these insights, we developed interactive prototypes, spotlighting our proposed Content Hierarchy and Information Architecture.

OUR APPROACH

Create - an entirely new visual style

The look and feel for the site was designed from the ground up with a Big Is Beautiful approach, led by the outcomes of our brand strategy card deck exercise – that the brand should be momentous, timeless, accomplished and welcoming, making the users feel confident, special, exclusive and wowed.

OUR APPROACH

Develop - 100% Up-time using headless technologies

AEG’s sites need to be up 100% of the time. We chose a headless solution combined with Craft CMS to ensure this – the user-facing site is ‘decoupled’ from the CMS, and refreshed whenever a CMS change takes place.

Subism have been fantastic to work with. They made the early development stages creative, collaborative and fun and brought our festivals to life brilliantly with the end results.

THE RESULTS

Sophisticated, welcoming, and always up.

A future-proof and scalable site with 100% up-time and a sophisticated yet approachable design that helped sell out the events of 2022 and even 2023 well in advance.

The site gets users excited for upcoming events, as well as providing all the information they need for their day. It also tells the story of the festival's positive effects on the surrounding community, making those who live near the site feel like they’re part of it.
